Become a participating investment manager
Access the RIA Channel the Right Way
To ensure valuable connections are made, XALT RIA Forums are regionally-focused and bespoke in nature. We generally allow no more than to 20 Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs) to attend. For our Semi-Annual Forums, we only have room for up to 15 Investment Managers. For our smaller, topic-concentrated one-day conferences, we only have room for up to 8 Investment Managers.
Each participating RIA has been screened according to their assets under management, as well as their desire and ability to add new alternative investment programs to their platform. In addition, a strict participant attendance policy will be enforced to ensure that investment managers are getting proper “face time” with attending RIA decision makers.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To become a participating Investment Manager, you must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
-
You should have an active offering
-
You should be the manager of the offering
-
You should not be under any current enforcement investigations or have any recent or pending regulatory issues
-
Your offering should meet some minimal "RIA-friendly" requirements. Examples of this include:
-
Your offering has an “RIA share class” that is priced at NAV or at least does not include an adviser commission within its load. If the offering does have an adviser commission, then that commission, plus any related dealer re-allowance, is credited back to the investor at the time of purchase.
-
Your offering provides valuation reporting on at least an annual basis.
-
Your offering has some means with which to provide data into an RIA’s accounting software. This may be done via multiple ways, including DTCC AIP, DST FanMail, direct data feeds, etc. If you do not provide such means, you will need to provide an explanation on how an RIA can reconcile your offering for billing and reporting purposes.
-
If your offering provides distributions, you clearly identify what portion of the distribution is a return of principal, what portion is dividend income, and what portion is capital gains.
-
Ultimately, it is up to you to decide just how compatible your offering is with RIAs. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Darren Whissen.
Upon completing the Investment Manager Registration Form and Investment Manager Questionnaire, you will be contacted by us to verify you and your offering meet our minimum requirements before being accepted.
